Installation process

Expansion or contraction joints can be cut using a wet diamond blade.

Joints in screeds which need to be cut within hours can be cleared out with the 'Crackvac' at a later date. This is helpful if other trades are in the area as it eliminates problems of dust.

Joints can be trafficked as soon as the tape is expanded. No problems with primers or uncured mastic

After the preparation, the PERMABAN tape can be installed. The tape is laid adjacent to the joint cutting off the small wedge at each end. The backing tape is then removed. Care is taken not to stretch the tape as it is placed into the joint.

Gentle heat can be applied to speed up the re-expansion of the tape.
